Jodi Nichols, 48, of Pikeville, entered a guilty plea Monday to a charge of possession of more than 50 grams of meth with the intent to distribute.

Court records indicate she was driving along the Mountain Parkway May 28, when she encountered a Kentucky State Police roadblock at mile marker 70. During that stop, police found about 8 ounces of meth in her car.

She later told police she had obtained more than 200 grams of meth from a supplier in Richmond and planned to give a portion of it to a dealer and keep the rest for herself.

Nichols will be back in court for sentencing Feb. 12, when she will face a sentence of between 5 and 40 years in prison.
