PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Pike County man has pleaded guilty to a federal fentanyl charge.

Randy Keathley, 57, of Pikeville, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Pikeville to a single count of possession of more than 40 grams of fentanyl with the intent to distribute. In his plea agreement, he admitted to having more than 73 grams of fentanyl and that he intended to distribute it to others.
Keathley was arrested last August, when police responded to a panic alarm at his home. When police arrived, Keathley said he just had a new security system installed and he had pressed the panic button to see if it worked. But police discovered he was wanted on three warrants and placed him under arrest.
After telling police he had soiled himself and asking to change clothes, officers found fentanyl hidden in his dirty clothes.
Keathley now faces a sentenced of between five and 40 years when he is sentenced August 7.
