SITKA, Ky. — For the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, it was a case of the same car and same result, but a different suspect.

Sheriff Scott Hazlette accompanied a state trooper to a Sitka home last week as part of an investigation. When they arrived, they found a car parked behind the residence with Floyd Jenkins, 45, of Munford, Ala., sitting inside. The officers immediately detected the scent of marijuana coming from the vehicle and asked Jenkins to step out.

Following a search the officers found a box containing a quarter-pound of meth and an ounce-and-a-half of fentanyl.

Back in October, police arrested Frederick Daniel Holt Jr., 50, of Gadsden, Ala., driving the same car. Holt was arrested at that time for selling fentanyl out of his room at the Days Inn. He was charged with importing fentanyl and aggravated fentanyl trafficking.

Jenkins now faces similar charges of importing fentanyl and meth trafficking. He is being held in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center, in Paintsville, on a $25,000 cash bond.
