BEAVER, Ky. — Police are investigating after a woman’s body was found in Floyd County on Friday.

Kentucky State Police reported to a report of an unresponsive woman found along Route 979 at Beaver. There, they found the body of Sarah Slone, 35, of Beaver, dead of a gunshot wound.

Slone’s body was taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy.

KSP Det. Dylan Mullins is leading the investigation into the incident.
