A Floyd County deputy spotted an SUV at a home that had been the subject of numerous complaints about drug trafficking, then saw it leave and turn onto Route 80.

The deputy pulled the car over and driver, identified as Travis Michael Hall, 42, couldn’t produce proof of registration or insurance. The officer began writing him a ticket, while K9 Bear was brought in to sniff around the vehicle, which produced a hit.

The deputy began searching the car, but noticed that Hall kept fidgeting while standing outside. After the officer found a set of scales and a syringe in the car, he went back to talk to Hall, when he spotted a package on the ground which hadn’t been there earlier. Inside the package were a bag of meth and a loose meth rock, as well as a debit card for a man who had been arrested at the drug house several days earlier.

Two passengers in the car told the officer that Hall had tucked the package and then tossed it once the deputy began searching the car.

Hall was arrested and charged with meth trafficking, evidence tampering, DUI and several traffic violations. He is being held on a $50,000 cash bond.
