PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (MTN) — Mountain Enterprises began a new roadwork project on US 460.
According to a statement from Kentucky Highway District 12, officials are saying that the work will take place between East Ridge High School and the intersection at Mouthcard near the Dollar General store.
Work is expected to last two weeks and includes milling, paving and striping. To assist drivers during the road construction, cones, barrels and flaggers will be in place to direct traffic when necessary.
Vince Hayes, the Pikeville Section Engineer at Kentucky Highway District 12 states, “There are sections of this work zone that are four-lane, three-lane and two-lane, so drivers need to be cautious.”
To keep travelers and road-crews safe during this construction, Kentucky Highway District 12 officials are encouraging the community to share this information with anyone who travels on US 460 from Lick Creek to Mouthcard, Kentucky.
