MELVIN, Ky. — A Floyd County man has been arrested for an assault that sent his ex-wife to the hospital.
The woman told police she had been living with Charles Crittendon, 44, of Melvin, for the past three months, and that he got angry Monday morning when she wouldn’t give him the keys to a vehicle because she said he was under the influence of drugs.
She told police he punched her in the face, breaking her nose and causing a cut that required five stitches. Afterwards, she said took the vehicle and left.
He was found at Robinson Creek, in Pike County, later that afternoon and was arrested.
Crittendon is now charged with second-degree assault, which carries a potential prison sentence of 5-to-10 years.
