
ABINGDON, Va. — A Wise County man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison, after pleading guilty to federal drug and gun charges.
James Edward Williams, 43, pleaded guilty to possession of more than 50 grams of meth with the intent to distribute and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Prosecutors say Williams was responsible for selling large amounts of meth, fentanyl and heroin in southwestern Virginia.
Court records indicate he sold 41 grams of meth on two occasions last year. He was also found with 25 grams of meth following a single-car crash. Finally, a raid of his home revealed 44 grams of meth and other items.
