PAINTSVILLE, Ky. — A Johnson County woman who pleaded guilty to hindering prosecution in a double-murder case is facing new legal troubles.

Amanda Fannin, 37, of Staffordsville, was arrested yesterday afternoon in Paintsville for being a fugitive wanted on a federal petty offense out of North Carolina. Fannin is charged with assault by striking in the Eastern District of North Carolina, for an incident that allegedly took place on the Hatteras Beach National Seashore last August.
According to documents filed in that case, Fannin is accused of slapping a Scranton, Pa., man, after he complained of her cursing near children. She allegedly failed to appear for a December court date in the case.
Fannin was sentenced to three years in prison in 2013 for allegedly helping her boyfriend after he murdered his parents.
Willie Blanton was sentenced to two life terms after he admitted killing Larry and Sandra Blanton and burying their bodies on their farm.
Fannin was not found to have participated in the murders and says she only learned of them afterwards.
