LONDON, Ky. — A Perry County woman has been sentenced to more than 15 years in prison, after pleading guilty to distributing more than a pound of meth and using a firearm in a drug crime.

Sherry L. Spencer, 46, of Hazard, pleaded guilty to the charges in federal court back in April.

When she was arrested in July of last year, police found nearly 3 lbs. of meth in her home, along with two loaded handguns and an AR-15-style rifle. Spencer admitted to having the weapons for her protection while selling drugs.

On Monday, she was sentenced to 190 months in prison. She was taken into custody immediately after her sentencing.
