According to Whitesburg Police, Charles Michael Osborne, 27, of Eolia, was driving on Jenkins Road, when he pulled out in front of an officer, who knew he was wanted for absconding from parole. The officer attempted to pull him over, but Osborne sped away instead, leading to a chase along Hospital Road, Route 15 and Route 119.

Police say Osborne was driving at speeds of 75 miles an hour in the wrong lane and passing vehicles on blind curves. At one point, Osborne’s front passenger tire went flat, but he continued to drive anyway until he crashed into the pole.

Osborne was arrested for fleeing police, wanton endangerment and other charges.

A passenger in his vehicle — Joanna Davis, 37, of Whitesburg — was arrested on drug charges, after police reportedly found her with meth and a pipe.
