The Prestonsburg Lady Blackcats battled to a 3-3 tie on the road Monday night against West Carter.
Senior striker Jade Fitzpatrick continued her scoring surge, finding the net three times to bring her season total to 21 goals, an average of 2.3 per game. Assists came from Alyssa Hicks, Kendyl Stephens and Paisly Slone.
Goalkeeper Adrionna Layne turned in a strong performance with eight saves, but the Lady Comets managed to score just enough to force the draw.
The result leaves both Prestonsburg and West Carter with identical 4-4-1 records.
Next up, Prestonsburg returns home to face Morgan County at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Morgan County will be looking to rebound after a 6-0 loss to Menifee County.
In other girls soccer action Monday, Belfry rolled past Paintsville 9-1. Tonight’s slate includes Johnson Central hosting Hazard, Perry Central taking on Letcher Central, and Martin County traveling to Menifee County.
