VOLLEYBALL: Lady Tigers Sweep Shelby Valley to Extend Win Streak

The Paintsville Lady Tigers had another strong night on the volleyball court, sweeping Shelby Valley 3-0 on Tuesday.

Paintsville took the match in straight sets, winning 25-15, 25-15 and 25-16. Junior standout Kylie Kinner once again led the way for the Lady Tigers, finishing with 24 kills and three serving aces. Kinner now has 673 kills on the season, continuing to be one of the most dominant hitters in the region.

She was followed by fellow junior Mallory May, who added 10 kills in the win. May’s consistent play this season has helped the Lady Tigers maintain their rhythm, and she now sits at 284 kills for the year.

Individual stats for Shelby Valley players were not available at press time.

The win improves Paintsville to 23-10 for the season and extends their winning streak to nine matches. Shelby Valley now holds a record of 29-5.

Paintsville will close out its regular season on Thursday, October 16, when the Lady Tigers travel to face Betsy Layne. Shelby Valley will return to the court this Saturday, October 18, when they take on Russell and Huntington in the Kitten Classic.
