CENTRAL APPALACHIA — Heavy storms are taking their toll on power lines throughout the Mountain Top News coverage area, with West Virginia counties being especially hard hit.
Mingo and Logan counties were reporting nearly 3,500 outages as of 11:15 a.m.
In Kentucky, neighboring Pike County was reporting nearly 2,000 customers without power, while that number reached more than 500 in Martin County and more than 400 in Floyd County.
