PAINTSVILLE, Ky. — A Michigan man who was pulled over New Year’s Eve for having a headlight out found himself ringing in the new year in jail for drug trafficking.
A Johnson County sheriff’s deputy pulled over Shane Denslow, 45, of Wyoming, Mich., around 10:30 Thursday night.
When the deputy noticed the smell of marijuana coming from the car, he asked about it. Denslow first denied having any marijuana, then admitted to having a roach.
He was then placed under arrest and then the deputy found six containers of suspected marijuana and a bag of mushrooms, along with scales, plastic bags and almost $800 in cash.
He also found a hotel key and went to search his room, at which time he found five Mason jars of suspected marijuana and another bag of mushrooms.
Denslow has been charged with marijuana trafficking and drug trafficking.
