
The Pikeville Panthers kept their momentum rolling Monday night, earning a 3-1 road win over Letcher County Central in boys soccer action.
Junior Steven Gonzalez-Santes paced the Panthers with a goal and an assist, while Lincoln Parsons and freshman Truett Howell each added a goal. Eli Weatherford and Noor Ghayur also chipped in with assists as Pikeville’s attack spread the wealth.
The offensive production added to what has already been a strong season for the Panthers’ playmakers. Gonzalez-Santes now has eight goals, Parsons and Howell are tied with 11 apiece, while Weatherford and Ghayur have combined for five assists on the year.
Will Coleman anchored the defense with seven saves, limiting the Cougars to a single score.
That lone goal for Letcher Central came from senior Dalton Potter, assisted by freshman Jaxon Crisp. Potter now has three goals and two assists on the season, while Crisp sits at six goals and two assists.
The win improves Pikeville to 6-3-2, while Letcher Central drops to 6-5. Pikeville returns home Thursday to face Belfry at 8 p.m. Letcher Central is back on the pitch tonight at Paintsville, with kickoff set for 8:30 p.m.
Elsewhere in boys soccer Monday night, Belfry blanked Johnson Central 2-0.
