PIKEVILLE, Ky. — The federal child pornography trial of a Pike County man has been delayed once again.
Robert Preston, 38, of Shelbiana, is accused of threatening a 13-year-old girl in order to force her to send him sexually explicit images of herself over a period of three years.
He was first scheduled to go on trial back in January, but that date has been repeatedly postponed, due to the pandemic and other issues. His most recent trial date was scheduled for Dec. 20, but that has now been postponed until Feb. 22, after prosecutors released more evidence to the defense, and Preston’s attorney requested more time to review it.
Preston remains in the Pike County Detention Center, where he has been held since October 2020.
