PIKEVILLE, Ky. (MTN) — A main water line has broken near the Pike County community of Pem Friend Lane.

According to a statement from Pikeville Public Safety, officials are saying this broken line was caused by construction in the area and that water is expected to be off for at least 4-5 hours.

The statement continues to say that a boil water advisory will remain in effect for all residents and businesses from Pem Friend Lane in Pike County to the Floyd County line, including all side streets until further notice.
