Floyd man indicted on federal child porn charges

PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Floyd County man was arrested on 20 counts of possessing and one count of distributing child pornography now faces significantly more jail time if convicted, after being indicted in federal court.

Christopher Hall, 25, of Harold, is charged with one count of possessing, producing and distributing child pornography.

When he was first arrested a year ago, he allegedly admitted to downloading and distributing child porn images for financial gain. The charges would have likely resulted in a sentence of 10 years or less, if he was convicted.

But in the new indictment, he is charged with coercing a girl to engage in sexual activity which he recorded. Of the charges, the production count is the most serious, carrying a potential sentence of between 15 and 30 years if he is convicted.

Hall is currently being held in the Floyd County Detention Center.
