PRESTONSBURG, Ky. — A Tennessee man currently sitting in the Floyd County jail is the subject of child exploitation cases filed in two states.

Rithy Pech, 35, of Gallatin, Tenn., was arrested in Prestonsburg on July 27. He is charged with one count of first-degree sexual abuse. That case is currently being considered by a grand jury for possible indictment.

The victim in that case is a girl younger than 12.

Back in January, Pech was arrested in Seattle on two counts of possession of depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. That case has also been sent to a grand jury to be considered for indictment.

He is currently awaiting extradition back to Washington.

Because he has not yet been convicted of any of the charges, Pech’s name does not appear in any state or national sex offender registry.

The Floyd County charges are being investigated by Det. Dennis Hutchinson with Prestonsburg Police.
