
SALYERSVILLE, Ky. — A Magoffin County man who was arrested under Kentucky’s new bestiality law has entered a guilty plea in the case.
Willie Wireman, 35, of Royalton, was arrested back in June and charged with sexual crimes against animals.
According to court records, a neighbor complained about him committing bestiality with his dog, and a police officer responding to the complaint allegedly caught him in the act. Sexual crimes against animals is a felony and carries a potential sentence of 1-to-5 years in prison.
In exchange for his guilty plea, prosecutors have agreed to recommend a prison sentence of four years. He will be sentenced on Thursday.
Wireman remains in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center, where he has been held since June.
