Four charged with trafficking following drug raid

LOVELY, Ky. — A major drug bust for the Martin County Sheriff’s Office last week sent nine people to jail, including four for drug trafficking.

While raiding a home at Long Branch early Friday morning, deputies seized nearly 200 Xanax bars, more than half a pound of marijuana, $10,000 in cash and 42 guns. Two of the guns had been reported as stolen and one had its serial number removed.

Arrested on drug trafficking charges were Tommie Spears, 58; Cody Spears, 25; Lara Davis Giacomoni, 37; and Ruby Chaffins, 45, all of Lovely.

Five other people were arrested on drug possession or intoxication charges.
