PILGRIM’S KNOB, Va. — A Buchanan County high school was placed on lockdown Wednesday morning, after a loaded gun was found on school property.

Deputies were called to Twin Valley High School after the weapon was found inside a vehicle parked on school property. Officers secured the area and conducted a threat assessment. After determining there was no immediate threat, the lockdown was lifted.

Police say an unidentified male is in custody and the investigation is continuing.

The sheriff’s office says it will release more information will be released at a later time.
