Johnson man arrested for fentanyl trafficking

STAFFORDSVILLE, Ky. — A Johnson County man has been arrested, after police looking at him as part of a drug investigation allegedly found him with fentanyl in his possession.



The Kentucky State Police Drug Enforcement Special Investigations East unit had been investigating Kevin Douglas Clay, 47, of Staffordsville, for trafficking in fentanyl. When police caught up to him on Tuesday, they allegedly found him with about 3 ounces of the drug, along with a handgun.

Clay has now been charged with aggravated fentanyl trafficking, which carries a sentence of 10 to 20 years in prison. He continues to be held in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
