The Johnson Central Lady Eagles improved to 3-0 on the season with a 77-35 win over the Shelby Valley Lady Kats on Saturday.
Johnson Central had two players score in double figures, led by Karlea Stanley with 17 points. Stanley shot 50 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from three-point range, while going 2-for-3 from the free-throw line.
Emma McKenzie added 16 points on the night, shooting 66.7 percent from the field and from beyond the arc.
As a team, the Lady Eagles shot 46.8 percent from the field, 31.6 percent from three-point range and 81.2 percent from the free-throw line. Johnson Central finished with 35 rebounds.
Individual and team statistics for Shelby Valley were not reported to the KHSAA as of press time.
Johnson Central will be back in action on Tuesday, Dec. 16, when they host Floyd Central for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.
Shelby Valley is scheduled to face Paintsville at home tonight, Dec. 15, at 6 p.m., pending any weather-related cancellations. The loss drops the Lady Kats to 1-2 on the season.
