
SALYERSVILLE, Ky. — The captain of the Magoffin County Rescue Squad has died, a victim of COVID-19.
Edwin Carter Conley, 71, of Salyersville, was a founding member of the rescue squad and served as the organization’s captain for 47 years. He died Sunday following a lengthy battle with COVID-19.
His funeral will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, at Magoffin County High School. Visitation will be held at the school from 6 to 10 p.m. on Wednesday, with Masonic Rites at 7 p.m.
Magoffin County Judge-Executive Matt Wireman has ordered that all county government offices and facilities will be closed on Thursday, to allow staff to attend the funeral.
