VANCLEVE, Ky. — A Breathitt County man is charged with first-degree assault, after a shooting earlier this week.
Kentucky State Police Post 13 received a call Tuesday afternoon from 19-year-old Dalton Taulbee, who reported that he had shot two people at his Vancleve home.
Troopers responding to the scene determined that 56-year-old Foxie Feltner and 45-year-old Margaret Feltner had been outside Taulbee’s home, cutting down a utility pole with a chainsaw. Taulbee allegedly grabbed his rifle, went outside and fired two shots, hitting both of them.
The Feltners survived, but were taken to a hospital for treatment.
Taulbee was booked in the Three Forks Regional Jail on two counts of first-degree assault.
The incident remains under investigation.
