Mountain Top, community partners work to collect items for N.C. flood victims

PIKEVILLE, Ky. — Mountain Top Media is working with community partners to collect much-needed money and supplies for the victims of catastrophic flooding in North Carolina.

Beginning at 9 a.m., Friday, items can be dropped off at the Appalachian Wireless Arena and Mountain Arts Center from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays, and at the Pikeville Fire Station 1 on weekends.

Financial donations can be made online at www.pikecountyreliefservices.org.

If you wish to donate supplies, we ask that you donate only the following needed items:

  • Diapers
  • Baby formula
  • Non-perishable food
  • Powdered milk
  • Soap
  • Paper products
  • Personal hygiene products
  • Trash bags
  • Shovels
  • Gloves
  • Drinking water

No furniture or clothing will be accepted.
