Officer Assaulted in Drug Bust

“One of the needles did stick one of our officers. He left the scene and went to seek medical attention.”

PAINTSVILLE ,KY – Evidence of the drug epidemic can be found all across out region, and sometimes in the parking lot of a local business.

“Paintsville Police got a call of a possible male passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle at the Subway restaurant in Mayo Plaza. They observed the male passed out in a standing position bent over at the hips with his arms underneath him laying in the front seat of the driver’s side. There was a female that was with him inside the subway restaurant , they made contact with her and she did give them a little bit of a fight. They found approximately 30 grams of crystal like substance believed to me methamphetamine. They also found two loaded needles. One of the needles stuck  one of our officers. He left the scene and went to seek medical attention.”

Thirty-one year old Stephanie Hall and thirty-one year old Billy Hall, both of Banner, was arrested and charged with two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance, first degree assault of an officer, possession of meth precursors, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia, and public intoxication. Officer Maynard when on to state that the officer that was stuck by the uncapped syringe is doing well and was back at work the next day.
