PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Pike County man has been arrested for breaking into a house and threatening a woman inside.

Police were first alerted to the incident just before 9 p.m., Sunday, when a distraught and naked man showed up at the back door of the police station screaming for help.
The man told police that Richard May, 38, of Pikeville, had broken into a woman’s house and was threatening her with brass knuckles. The man said he was able to escape from the house to run for help.
When police went to the home, May was not there and they spoke with the woman living at the residence. She told police that May had broken her screen door and picked the lock to get into her house. Once inside, she said he got into an argument with her and the other man, broke a mirror, and threatened to stab her.
Police were able to obtain video from a neighbor, which reportedly allowed them to hear May making threats and damaging property.
May was arrested at his home the next morning. He is charged with burglary, terroristic threatening, criminal mischief and menacing.
