Ronnie Todd Lowe, 51, of Pikeville, has been charged with one count of theft, four counts of receiving stolen property and four counts of obscuring the identity of a machine.

The indictment alleges he stole an excavator owned by Kevin Prater back on Oct. 21. The following day, he is alleged to have been found with a stolen skid steer owned by Kevin Prater, a backhoe and skid steer owned by Water Dogs Construction, and a mini excavator owned by Wrightway Enterprises. The serial numbers on all four of those pieces of equipment were also defaced.

Each of the charges Lowe now faces carries a potential prison sentence of 5-to-10 years in prison.

Lowe is currently being held without bond in the Pike County Detention Center. He is scheduled to appear in Pike Circuit Court for arraignment on Wednesday.
