PIKEVILLE, Ky. — Pikeville High School cheered on it’s cheerleaders, Wednesday, with a celebration at the school.
Faculty, staff, students and family members congratulated the cheerleaders Wednesday afternoon during a ceremony in the high school’s Alumni Auditorium.
Over the weekend, the Pikeville High School varsity cheerleaders won their third consecutive national title at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. The squad competed in Division 2 Small Varsity against 155 squads. 15 teams cheered in the final competition. The 2018 National High School Cheerleading Championship, produced by the Universal Cheerleaders Association, hosted more than 20,000 of the country’s top high school cheerleaders. According U.C.A, the National High School Cheerleading Championship is the most prestigious cheerleading championship in the country.
This year’s seniors say it has been on honor to win not only one championship, but three.
