Police hunt for two who escaped SW Va. jail

ABINGDON, Va. — Authorities are on the hunt for two men who walked away from a southwestern Virginia jail.

The men are believed to be traveling in a stolen gold Cadillac SUV.

Johnny Shane Brown, 51, of Rogersville, Tenn., and Albert Lee Ricketson, 31, of Abingdon, were inmates at the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail in Abingdon, when they walked away from a recreational yard on Thursday. Brown is a federal inmate while Ricketson is a convicted double murderer.


 


Brown is described as 5 feet, 11 inches tall and 182 lbs., with gray hair. Ricketson is 5 feet, 8 inches tall and 212 lbs, with brown hair. Both men were last seen wearing red jumpsuits, possibly with white t-shirts.

They are believed to be traveling in a stolen gold Cadillac SUV with Virginia license plate UDZ-6049.

Anyone who sees the men or knows information about their location is asked to call 911 immediately.
