Post office burglar could go back to prison for violation

Jason King

PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A man who went to prison for breaking into a Pike County post office could be headed back for a probation violation.

Jason King, 43, of Beattyville, pleaded guilty in 2014 to breaking into the Stopover Post Office and stealing money orders. He was arrested when he tried to cash them.

King served a 40-month prison sentence and was released. But now he is facing a return to prison, after his probation officer accused him of using drugs, tampering with a drug test, and violating the law.

He is currently being held in the Pike County Detention Center, awaiting a hearing in federal court.
