Pound woman admits distributing cocaine, psilocin

ABINGDON, Va. — A Wise County woman has agreed to plead guilty to federal charges of distributing cocaine and psilocin.

Emily Dawn McCoy, of Pound, has signed a plea agreement admitting to the charges. In a signed statement stipulating to the facts in the case, McCoy admitted to working with others to acquire and distribute the drugs from February to September of last year.

Investigators used undercover informants to buy cocaine from her five times, also obtaining psilocin on one of those occasions. Following the last buy in September, police raided her home and seized 1.8 lbs. of cocaine, two bags of psychedelic mushrooms, eight bags of marijuana and three jars of THC wax, as well as a gun an ammunition.

Once McCoy enters her plea, she will face up to 40 years in prison. No date has yet been set for her to plead guilty.
