PRESTONSBURG, Ky. — The lingering effects of winter snowstorms have created challenges for everyone, and that includes your garbageman.

As a result, Rumpke is offering advice to its customers in Floyd County on how to make sure your trash can be collected. Those tips include:

  • Clear a Path – Keep driveways, sidewalks and streets salted and free of snow—make sure snowbanks do not block carts.
  • Position Carts Safely – Place carts on level ground and away from snow piles so they’re visible and accessible.
  • Stay Informed – Monitor weather updates and service alerts via Rumpke’s website or social media.
  • Update your Contact Info – To stay up to date on service alerts, make sure you opt in to receive SMS messages and emails from Rumpke.
  • Waste Dropoff – Residents may bring their material to the Floyd County Transfer Station located at 200 Garth Hollow, Martin, KY 41646.

Rumpke notes that its crews are collecting trash as conditions allow, but delays may happen. For more information, they invite customers to visit rumpke.com or give them a call at (800) 828-8171.
