IVEL, Ky. — A Florida sex offender is in jail, following a complaint of a suspicious man with a handgun at Ivel.

The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from Pikeville Police, arrested Kenneth Mullins, 68, of Lakeland, Fla., yesterday. He faces charges of failure to comply with sex offender registration and felon in possession of a firearm.

Mullins was originally convicted of indecent liberties with a child in Montgomery, Va., back in 2012.

He is being held in the Floyd County Detention Center, awaiting extradition to Florida.
