STOPOVER, Ky. — A man who allegedly attempted to elude police ended up being taken to jail on drug trafficking charges, following a short pursuit.
Two state troopers were posted at the intersection of Route 194 and Widows Branch at Stopover, when they saw a Ford Transit Van approach, stop, then make a U-turn and head in the opposite direction.
One of the troopers then began following the van and saw that the van’s West Virginia tags were expired. Before he could pull it over, however, the van turned into a driveway and the driver, identified as Brian Woodson, 44, of Huntington, W.Va., jumped out and ran away.
After a short foot chase, Woodson was stopped with a taser.
Following his arrest, police recovered what was described as a large amount of meth. Woodson was taken to jail for meth trafficking, fleeing police and other charges.
