Suspect in custody after 2 officers and police dog killed, 6 others injured

ALLEN, Ky. — We now know the name of a man arrested in Allen last night, following a deadly armed standoff with police. 

Lance Storz, 49, of Allen, is being held in the Pike County jail on two counts of murder of a police officer, five counts of attempted murder of a police officer, and one count each of attempted murder and assault on a service animal.



Deputies went Storz’s home at 6:44 p.m. Thursday  to serve him with an emergency protective order as part of a domestic violence case. Police say he responded by firing a rifle at them.



That prompted a standoff that lasted at least four hours until he was taken into custody at 9:36 p.m.

According to court records, two police officers were killed, five police officers and an emergency management director were injured, and a police dog was killed.

The names of the victims have not yet been released.
