BIG STONE GAP, Va. — A southwestern Virginia man is facing child porn charges in federal court.

Shannon Michael Gatlin, 20, is charged with one count of sexual exploitation of minors through child pornography in U.S. District Court in Big Stone Gap.

According to the indictment, Gatlin possessed sexual images of a child younger than 12 on a phone and tablet.

Gatlin is currently being held in the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail in Duffield, after being convicted of arson. He is scheduled to appear in court April 4 to answer the new charge.
