PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Tennessee man has been arrested in Pike County, after being found with a large amount of drugs.
A Pikeville Police officer was on patrol just after midnight on Thursday, when he spotted two cars parked near the soccer field on Billips Drive. When he pulled into the parking lot, both cars left.
The officer pulled over one of the cars and spoke to the driver, Shawn Hunt, 44, of Bean Station, Tenn. Hunt told police he was just talking to a friend and left because he had just received a call from his wife to come home, but he gave police permission to search the car.
Hidden inside a large speaker box, police found a large amount of meth and cocaine, as well as a smaller amount of heroin.
Hunt was arrested and charged with trafficking in meth, heroin and cocaine, and other charges.
