Lance Storz, 49, of Allen, is accused of ambushing officers Thursday as they attempted to serve him with an emergency protective order related to a domestic violence case filed earlier that day. That resulted in a standoff that saw both sides exchange gunfire.

Storz was arrested several hours after the standoff began. He was originally charged with two counts of murder of a police officer, five counts of attemp murder of a police officer, and one count each of attempted murder and assault of a service animal. Those charges will likely be amended following Chaffins’ death.
