IVEL, Ky. — An investigation into drug activity at a Floyd County motel has resulted in the arrest of two people for meth trafficking.
The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office received numerous tips that drugs were being sold out of room 206 at the Alpike Motel, in Ivel, and went to check it out. They knocked on the door and informed the occupants, Raymond Conn, 35, and Jennifer Bays, 46, both of Town Branch, why they were there and obtained permission to search the room.
Inside, they found four bags of meth and a bag of Valium, along with scales, plastic bags and glass pipes. They also found an 11-year-old child in a second room with approximately 20 uncapped, used syringes scattered around within easy reach of the child.
Conn and Bays were both arrested and charged with meth trafficking, drug possession and wanton endangerment. They are each being held on $25,000 cash bonds.
