PIKEVILLE, Ky. — The victim in a fatal crash Monday in Pike County has been identified.

According to Kentucky State Police, Jacob Fitch, 20, of Louisa, was driving south on Airport Road around 10:30 Monday morning, when he lost control of his Chevy S-10 pickup and ran head-on into a Peterbilt tractor-trailer in the oncoming lane. Fitch died at the scene.

A passenger in his truck was taken to Pikeville Medical Center with injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening.

The accident remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police.
