W.Va. to debut 988 suicide hotline in July

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — This summer, West Virginia residents having suicidal thoughts will be able to get help with just three numbers.

The state has received a grant to change the phone number for its suicide prevention lifeline to 988.
The change will become effective in July.

Currently, those needing help from the hotline can call 1-800-273-TALK.
