LOGAN COUNTY, W.Va. — A woman was killed after being struck by a car along U.S. 119 Tuesday night.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office reports the incident happened just after 9:30 p.m. When deputies arrived on the scene, they found the body of Courtney Nicole Brown, 24, of Logan, near the median.
A man at the scene — Phillip Workman, 26, of Danville — told officers he was driving about 70 mph in the right lane, when Brown suddenly came across the median and ran in front of him. After hitting her, he said he pulled over and called 911.
The incident remains under investigation, but the sheriff’s office says it appears to be an accident. No arrests have been made.
