Two Mingo County residents arrested after authorities received a drug tip

drug2DINGESS, W.Va. — Two Mingo County residents were arrested after the Mingo County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. 119 Drug Task Force received a drug tip. Police received a call that 31-year-old Anthony John Fleming of Dingess and 24-year-old Veronica Fannin of Kermit would be driving through Dingess with a large quantity of meth and a firearm. When officers attempted to pull them over, they allegedly fled and almost hit an oncoming vehicle, causing another vehicle to drive into a ditch … That driver had to be extricated and taken to a local hospital. Fleming then allegedly rammed his vehicle into the police cruiser. The officer was also taken to a nearby hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. drugOnce stopped, Veronica Fannin was arrested on drug and conspiracy charges. Anthony Fleming was arrested on the same charges, as well as two counts of attempted murder, two counts of fleeing police, and felony possession of a firearm. Both remain lodged in the Southwestern Regional Jail.
