Pike County parks to reopen with new restrictions

PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (MTN) — A new executive order has been signed to reopen parks and playgrounds on Friday, August 28 in Pike County, Kentucky.

This new order executed by Pike County Judge-Executive Ray Jones will rescind certain restrictions of a previous order relating to COVID-19, which was set forth back in March of this year.

The new guidelines are as follows:

  1. Executive Order No. 03.27.20.08 is hereby rescinded.
  2. Parks and playgrounds in Pike County, Kentucky, and in particular those that are owned and/or operated by the Pike County Fiscal Court are reopened.
  3. Please do not use parks, shelters, playgrounds, walking tracks, baseball fields or basketball courts if you are exhibiting symptoms of coronavirus COVID-19.
  4. Visit parks and playground areas that are close to your home.
  5. Carefully consider use of playgrounds and help children follow guidelines.
  6. Observe CDC’s minimum recommended social distancing of six feet from other persons at all times.
  7. Wear a face covering if you will be closer than six feet to someone outside your own household.
  8. Follow CDC’s guidance on personal hygiene prior to visiting parks, shelters, playgrounds, walking tracks, baseball fields or basketball courts.
