COLLEGE FOOTBALL: Bears slowed in home loss to Blue Raiders

Nationally ranked Lindsey Wilson College clamped down on the University of Pikeville’s offense in the second half to pull away and beat the Bears, 39-9, in the home finale played at the W.C Hambley Athletics Complex on Saturday.

UPIKE quarterback Xavier Malone passed for 335 yards. He was picked off three times, including once for a Raiders touchdown.

Running back Alex Sanders finished with 63 yards on 17 carries. Backup quarterback Lee Kirkland scored on a one-yard run.

UPIKE will close out the season at Faulkner (Ala.) University on Saturday. Kickoff is 2:30 pm.
