PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Pikeville man has now been arrested, after being indicted for murder and other charges last week.
Craig Stanfield, 34, is charged with two counts of murder and two counts of vehicular homicide for the deaths of Kaylee Sword and her unborn child, as well as a number of other charges.
Sword was a passenger on Stanfield’s motorcycle back on May 10, when the indictment alleges he stole items from Hideaway Novelties and tried to flee, pulling into the path of a tractor-trailer. Sword and the unborn child died in the crash.
Police say Stanfield was under the influence and had meth in his possession at the time of the crash.
Stanfield is now being held in the Pike County jail. He is due in court for arraignment July 7.
